The Cokeville Miracle Giveaway

The Cokeville Miracle just came out on DVD and I have to say, I was thrilled to get my copy. I loved this movie. It is so relevant to today, powerful and emotional. It definitely had some great talking points as we watched it together as a family. (And it is rated PG-13 for very good reasons. I think it might be frightening for younger children because of the bombing scenes.)

The Cokeville Miracle tells the story of how a man with a bomb took the elementary schoolchildren hostage and demanded a $2 million ransom per child. I loved how the film focused us on one family and their reaction to the horrifying event.  The best thing, though, was that it wasn't about carnage or violence. The film was uplifting and carried an inspiring message.  It touched me and really made me think about what I believe when it comes to modern-day miracles.

This film is tense, it is emotional, but the miracle of that event is confirmed by so many witnesses. The message is incredible and yet not preachy. It is so well done from the acting to the way the story was told.

And since I loved this show so much, I am offering you a chance to win a DVD copy of it for yourself. All you have to do is tell me in the comments the name of a movie you've seen that touched your emotions and made you want to tell all your friends to go see it.

And if you haven't seen the theatrical trailer for The Cokeville Miracle, you can see that and my official review here.

Go see it. Buy the DVD here for $14.99.  Or enter my giveaway to win a copy.  But this is definitely a must-see movie.

I don't watch many movies the last one I saw that moved me was Unbroken.I am a history major and I love stories like this. Stories of survival, I don't know how these men survived what they did. I love stories like these.

I have been dying to see this movie! I've heard so many good things about it. The first movie I watched after my divorce was a little known Christmas movie called "The Christmas Card". The goodness of the characters and message of the story filled my hurting heart with so much hope and light. I still watch it every year and think about how blessed I am.

I haven't seen that movie yet, but I've heard great things about it. One movie I saw earlier this year that evoked strong emotions in me was "Far From The Madding Crowd". I really didn't like the choices the main character made until finally in the end she came through. I really was on the edge of my seat. It was a good one! (P.S. I read your blog and love how often you post and try to connect with people.)

The movie that touched me recent,y was "Baby's First Christmas." I just watched it this past week and thought that this definitely one of those must see Christmas movies. It is a Hallmark movie. It is entertaining but makes you think about what is really important to you as well. I found this on YouTube.

STAND AND DELIVER. I had such low expectations for it because it looked like it was going to be one of those self-consciously "inspirational" movies that's trying to get audiences cheering but just fall flats. Instead I found it gripping and moving, in part because it seemed so honest in depicting how these inner-city kids legitimately had all the odds stacked against them. And the audience did cheer and applaud at the end...at numbers being read out!
